Of the three parts of our being, our spirit has the most prominence and potential power. It can access God to bring about healing in our own body. It can receive valuable revelation and inspiration, even supernatural guidance in a time of soul crisis. Like nothing else, our spirit can grow in strength and develop incredible gifts to serve others in miraculous ways. And yet oddly enough, we often neglect our spirit most of all! Yes, our body and soul make a lot more noise. And yes, distractions and worldly matters constantly demand attention. But if we get our priorities right and give our spirit at least as much nourishment as we do our body and soul, we will grow beyond the limitations we once knew, impossibilities will become possible, and amazing events will unfold in ways we never dreamed before. |

Here's a little taste of things to come
I dove down into the spring of Rainbow River to fill that bottle with fresh water from the source. The water was pure, refreshing, and energizing. The Rainbow, peaceful and inviting, is the kind of place you never want to leave. Likewise, the reflection below is an invitation to taste a bit of God's refreshing water that Jesus said springs up to eternal life. Drink freely and enjoy! MD Our Tuning Fork “Indeed, the Lord will comfort Zion; He will comfort all her waste places. And her wilderness He will make like Eden, And her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness will be found in her, Thanksgiving and sound of a melody.” (Isaiah 51:3) One of the most incredible experiences in life can be attending a symphony with a full orchestra. But before they perform in perfect sync together, the musicians warm up on stage and play whatever they like to get themselves ready, creating musical chaos. There’s no unified rhythm or harmony. The “First Chair” violinist, the last musician to walk on stage, eventually signals the lead oboe to play the international standard A note, the same note generated by the concert tuning fork. The chaos ends. All play their instrument to the same tone and make adjustments as needed to assure harmony with each other. They become “in tune.” Silence follows. Then the Maestro appears and raises his arms. The magnificent concert begins. Notice some interesting parallels? Like the first chair violinist, the Holy Spirit appeared on stage when all was prepared and signaled Jesus Christ to generate the perfect tone of His ultimate sacrifice for us. But the Lamb of God could not do this alone. Mankind had to strike the Christ, our heaven-sent Tuning Fork, to send out the eternal vibrations through the shedding of His innocent, divine-human blood. Now the music of His life, death, and resurrection continues to resonate through all time and creation. The Father has raised His arms to conduct. Can you see His heavenly orchestra? Can you hear the Spirit's eternal harmonies of love, forgiveness, and grace? Can you feel the rhythmic waves of compassion for you? The tones have not been lost. Scientists recently discovered that sound waves continue in perpetuity forever, or at least as long as we can measure time. The Spirit of Christ, the embodiment of our Father's love, continually carries the perfect tone throughout creation. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever" (Hebrews 13:8). To experience divine harmony, to live in peace, to make beautiful music with our lives for others to enjoy, we just need to tune in to God's love and tune up during our quiet time or whenever we can escape distraction. We could tune our lives to many other things, other people, other fads and fashions, other dreams and desires, even fears and troubling events. But if it’s not the Spirit of God's Love we tune ourselves to, we will experience disharmony. We will be out of sync. We will only make noise. So let’s take a listen. Let’s stay in tune. Then with the love of heaven, we can make beautiful music together! |
